Role: Release Configuration Manager/ Software Development Manager
Location: Sacramento, CA/ Hybrid

Overview
We are seeking a SDM Configuration and Test Environments Manager who will be
responsible for managing and coordinating the release processes across our software
development lifecycle. This role requires expertise in both cloud operations, specifically
in AWS, and on-premises environments. The ideal candidate will ensure the integrity of
releases, facilitate smooth transitions between environments, coordinate system
maintenance and support all operational needs in both the AWS cloud and on-premises
settings.
Key Responsibilities
· Release Management: Support the release management lifecycle, including
scheduling, coordinating, and executing releases across development, testing,
and production environments.
· Configuration Management: Maintain configuration management processes to
ensure that all software releases are properly documented and controlled.
· Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development,
QA, operations, and product management teams to identify release
requirements, manage dependencies, and resolve conflicts.
· AWS Operations Support: Provide operational support for applications running
in AWS cloud environments. Coordinate all maintenance of existing and new
cloud applications.
· Testing Coordination: Coordinate the use and maintenance of test
environments.
· Process Improvement: Continuously assess and enhance release processes to
improve efficiency and reduce downtime during deployments.
· Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of release procedures,
configurations, environments and deployment plans.
· Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with releases and develop
mitigation strategies to address them.
Required Qualifications
Internal
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or
a related field.
· Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in release management or
configuration management roles, with a focus on cloud operations (preferably
AWS) and on-premises environments.
· Technical Skills:
· Aware of AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, and Elastic Load
Balancing.
· Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Bamboo, BitBucket,
JFrog) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins) is a plus.
· Experience with container technologies (e.g., Docker) is a plus.
· Soft Skills: Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively
across teams. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with Agile methodologies and practices.
Work Environment
This position will involve working in a hybrid environment that includes both remote work
capabilities and on-site responsibilities. The role will require off-hours support during
deployments.
