NEED LOCAL CANDIDATES WITH NetApp, StorageGRID, Pure Storage, and IBM storage platforms

Title: Storage Architect

Contract: 6-month contract to hire    

Location: Local in New Haven, CT, visiting data centre in New Haven, CT. 

Must be onsite 2-3 days a week. 

Certs / Degree:  Preferred: Relevant certifications, such as NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer (NCIE), IBM Certified Solution Architect, or Pure Storage Accredited Certification.

Storage Architect 

Highly skilled Storage Architect with a robust background in designing, implementing, and managing large-scale storage solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with NetApp, Storage GRID, Pure Storage, and IBM storage platforms, and a proven track record of architecting high-performance, scalable, and resilient storage environments. As a Storage Architect, you will play a critical role in our IT infrastructure strategy, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure our storage systems meet business objectives while optimizing for performance, cost, and security.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Technical Expertise: 

    • NetApp: Strong experience with NetApp ONTAP, SAN, and NAS storage systems.

    • StorageGRID: Expertise in StorageGRID object storage for large-scale unstructured data management.

    • Pure Storage: Proficient in managing Pure Storage FlashArray and FlashBlade systems.

    • IBM Storage Solutions: Familiar with IBM SAN, DS, and FlashSystem storage products.

  • Architecture and Design: Proven experience in architecting end-to-end storage solutions that align with enterprise needs.

  • Performance Optimization: Deep understanding of storage performance tuning, replication, and data protection strategies.

  • Security and Compliance: Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) and storage security best practices.

  • Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for storage automation and management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications, such as NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer (NCIE), IBM Certified Solution Architect, or Pure Storage Accredited Certification.

  • Familiarity with cloud storage integration (e.g., AWS, Azure) and hybrid storage solutions.

  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) in relation to storage environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and Design: Lead the design and architecture of storage solutions, ensuring scalability, resilience, and alignment with business requirements.

  • Implement and Manage: Deploy and maintain storage solutions across NetApp, StorageGRID, Pure Storage, and IBM environments.

  • Optimize Performance: Analyze performance and storage utilization, optimizing configurations to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices and compliance standards to protect data integrity and availability.

  • Project Leadership: Lead storage projects from concept through execution, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.

  • Troubleshooting and Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for storage-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for architecture, configurations, and processes.
