Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mendix Architect / Lead Engineer to join our team in either New York City or Boston. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial services, specifically in capital markets, trading systems, and middle and back office operations. This role requires a deep understanding of Mendix development, architecture, and deployment, combined with the ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

· Architectural Leadership: Design, develop, and implement Mendix applications and solutions, ensuring they meet business requirements and are scalable, secure, and maintainable.

· Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of Mendix developers, providing technical guidance and fostering a collaborative and innovative development environment.

· Project Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of Mendix projects, from requirements gathering and design to development, testing, and deployment.

· Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders, including business analysts, project managers, and other development teams, to ensure alignment of solutions with business goals.

· Technical Expertise: Stay current with the latest Mendix features, best practices, and industry trends to continuously improve our development processes and solutions.

· Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce best practices for code quality, security, and performance, conducting code reviews and ensuring adherence to standards.

· Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, providing innovative solutions to complex problems.


Qualifications:

· Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience with Mendix.

· Financial Services Expertise: Proven experience in capital markets, trading systems, and middle/back office operations within the financial services industry.

· Technical Skills: Proficiency in Mendix development and architecture, along with a strong understanding of other relevant technologies and frameworks.

· Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees and relevant certifications are a plus.

· Location: Must be based in New York City or Boston, with the ability to work on-site as required.

· Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.

· Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications:

· Mendix Certification: Mendix Advanced or Expert Certification.

· Additional Financial Services Experience: Experience with regulatory compliance and risk management in the financial sector.

· Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile development environments.
