Job Title: Data Engineer
Location: Remote
Contract: Long Term
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines for processing large datasets.
- Write efficient, maintainable, and reusable Python code to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources.
- Develop and maintain Unix shell scripts to automate repetitive tasks and manage data workflows.
- Work with data engineers and data scientists to understand data requirements and design appropriate solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data issues across multiple data sources and environments.
- Monitor and maintain data pipeline performance and implement improvements as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and application developers, to support data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure the integrity, security, and quality of data within the pipeline.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in Python for data processing and manipulation.
- Experience with Unix/Linux command-line tools and shell scripting.
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience working with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Ability to work with large-scale datasets and distributed systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with frameworks like Apache Spark or Hadoop for big data processing.
- Knowledge of version control tools such as Git.
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker is a plus.
