Job Title: Data Migration Lead
Location: Fully Remote
Duration: 12+ months

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Migration Lead to lead and oversee all aspects of the data migration process for our organization. This role will be responsible for managing the migration of large datasets, ensuring data integrity, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and optimizing the overall migration strategy for a smooth transition to new systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, project management, and experience leading successful data migration projects from planning through execution.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead Data Migration Projects: Manage and execute complex data migration projects, ensuring that data is transferred accurately, securely, and in compliance with organizational standards.
Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop comprehensive migration strategies, including timelines, risk assessments, and resource allocation. Create and maintain detailed project plans that cover all aspects of the migration process.
Data Mapping & Transformation: Work with data owners and technical teams to identify, map, and transform data from legacy systems to new platforms, ensuring proper structure, quality, and consistency.
Data Validation & Quality Assurance: Establish and execute data validation and reconciliation processes to ensure data integrity post-migration. Identify and resolve data discrepancies or issues during migration.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and third-party consultants to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the migration process.
Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks related to data migration, including data loss, downtime, or security breaches.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the migration process, including data mapping documents, test plans, validation reports, and progress updates. Provide regular status reports to management and stakeholders.
Post-Migration Support: Oversee post-migration activities, including troubleshooting, resolving issues, and ensuring that data in the new system is accurate and accessible.
Continuous Improvement: Drive best practices for data migration, leveraging lessons learned from past projects to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of future migrations.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in data migration or data management roles.
Proven experience leading and executing large-scale data migration projects (e.g., ERP migrations, cloud migrations, or data warehouse migrations).
Expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, data mapping, and data quality assurance.

Technical Skills:
Proficient in data migration tools (e.g., SQL, Talend, Informatica, DataStage, Microsoft SSIS, etc.).
Strong knowledge of databases (SQL, NoSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.).
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and SaaS applications.
Familiarity with data governance, data security, and compliance standards.

Project Management:
Strong project management skills with experience using methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset, capable of identifying and resolving issues quickly.
