Position Description:

Overview

The Cloud Commerce team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Android to drive our customer experience strategy forward by consistently innovating and problem-solving. The ideal candidate is passionate about the customer experience journey, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and entrepreneurial. Responsible for the analysis, design, development, and delivery of software solutions. Defines requirements for new applications and customizations, adhering to standards, processes, and best practices.

Design, Code, document, and test components/subsystems to a high standard.
Must be solutions-oriented – ultimately find and implement the ‘best fit’ solution to address the requirement on time.
Assist in defining processes and choosing development tools for the group.
Interpret technical specifications to produce detailed designs.
Design with future extension in mind.
Perform functional and performance testing of solutions.
Ensure code is easily maintainable and tracked in the version control system.
Provide task estimates and level of complexity assessment.
Provide input to the scheduling of projects.
Ensure tasks get executed on time and to the required standards.
Pass on knowledge of various technologies to other team members and to other functions.
 

Education (preferred):

Bachelor’s degree in computer science  (or related discipline).
 

Knowledge/Experience (preferred):

Java, Kotlin, Coroutines, Android security.
Android Framework, SDK, and Android IDE.
Mobile Application & Library Development [Android].
Architecture Pattern - Familiarity with architecture patterns like Model-View-View Model, Model-View-Presenter, Model-View-Intent, etc.
Version Control and CI-CD.
Experience working in an Agile environment.
Experience in implementing APIs and SDKs.
The discipline of working in a continuous integration, TDD environment.
Experienced in delivering commercial-grade software.
Has been proactive in creating a better user experience, and consumer value proposition.
Understand gaps in knowledge and can source training online.
Knowledge of payment protocols, NFC/EMV Technology, PCI DSS, and MPoC will be an advantage.
