Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced AWS Architect to join our dynamic team in St. Louis, MO. As an AWS Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS). You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, develop cloud strategies, and ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security of AWS environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Architecture: Develop comprehensive cloud solutions using AWS services, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement IaC using tools like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible to automate infrastructure deployment and management.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure cloud solutions are secure and comply with industry standards and best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and network security.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of AWS resources, ensuring scalability, high availability, and cost-efficiency.
- Cloud Migration: Lead and support cloud migration projects, providing expertise in re-architecting or migrating applications and workloads to AWS.
- Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure smooth implementation and support of cloud infrastructure.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical guidance and resolve cloud-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and performance degradation.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed architectural documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures for cloud environments.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in designing and implementing cloud architectures, with at least 3+ years on AWS.
- Strong expertise in AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, and more.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Strong knowledge of networking, security, and DevOps practices in a cloud environment.
- Experience with cloud migration projects, including application refactoring or re-platforming.
- Excellent understanding of AWS Well-Architected Framework and cloud best practices.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as AWS CloudWatch, ELK stack, or Datadog.
- AWS certifications (such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional) are highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS/EKS).
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS Code Pipeline.
- Experience in hybrid cloud environments and integration with on-premise systems.
