Job Title: Test Data Management Lead
Location: Boca Raton, FL
Overview:
The Test Data Management (TDM) Lead will oversee the strategy, execution, and governance of test data across multiple test environments. This role requires a deep understanding of data management principles and methodologies, with a focus on the effective provisioning, masking, and management of data for all testing initiatives within the organization. The TDM Lead will work closely with various stakeholders, including test teams, developers, business analysts, and data architects, to ensure the availability of high-quality, secure, and compliant test data to support the overall software quality strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Data Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement a comprehensive test data strategy that aligns with the overall testing objectives.
- Lead the planning and execution of test data management processes, including data creation, data generation, and data masking.
- Ensure that test data is properly structured and sufficient to simulate real-world scenarios across functional, performance, and security testing.
Test Data Design and Architecture
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements for different test cycles and test cases.
- Design and implement test data architectures and frameworks that support efficient data provisioning and management for all types of testing.
- Create and maintain reusable test data models and templates to ensure consistency across test efforts.
Data Masking and Data Privacy
- Implement and oversee data masking, encryption, and anonymization techniques to ensure that sensitive information is protected.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) when handling test data, maintaining a focus on data security and confidentiality.
- Oversee the use of data protection strategies in alignment with corporate security policies.
Test Data Provisioning and Automation
- Lead the automation of test data provisioning processes, including the development and maintenance of data generation tools and frameworks.
- Establish and manage a robust process for refreshing and replenishing test data in different environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to test data quality and availability.
Test Data Management Best Practices
- Define and enforce best practices for test data management, ensuring that test data is accurate, consistent, and accessible.
- Conduct regular audits and quality checks on test data to identify and address any gaps or inconsistencies.
- Provide guidance and training to team members on effective test data management practices.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with stakeholders such as test leads, developers, business analysts, and data architects to understand and meet their test data needs.
- Provide insights and recommendations for improvements in the testing process based on test data analysis.
- Coordinate with environment and release management teams to ensure the availability of test data across different environments.
Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain detailed documentation of test data management processes, procedures, and tools.
- Prepare regular reports and metrics on test data usage, quality, and availability for senior leadership.
- Ensure thorough documentation of data masking and data protection practices for compliance purposes.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of test data management specialists, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
- Promote continuous improvement within the team through coaching, training, and career development.
- Manage resource allocation and workload distribution within the test data management team.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of experience in software testing with at least 3 years in a Test Data Management or Data Management leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of test data management practices, including data provisioning, generation, masking, and anonymization.
- Expertise in database technologies (e.g., SQL, Oracle, NoSQL) and data manipulation techniques.
- Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, QTP, JMeter).
- Experience with data privacy laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across different teams and levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of technical professionals.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and DevOps practices is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Certifications in Data Management (e.g., DAMA, CDMP).
- Experience with agile testing methodologies and DevOps pipelines.
- Familiarity with automated test data generation tools.
- Knowledge of data warehousing and big data technologies.
