Job Description:
bility to create PLC programs using one of the IEC 61131 PLC Programming languages i.e. Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram, Structured Text or any other PLC programming language
• Design, test, and commission control systems. i.e.
• Systems with different PLC controllers in the same system, experience interfacing, designing controls with different manufacturers
• Develop control software utilizing various PLC platforms.
• Expert knowledge on at least one of the following PLC platforms.
• Schneider Momentum, M340, M580, AB Control, Compact Logix, Woodward MSLC, DSLC, Easy Gen, and LS5 Architecture
• Interpret customer specifications and drawings, and apply them to design platform while considering industry regulations and requirements
• Customize PLC software and hardware templates

• Understand in detail the applicable NEC, UL 508, UL 891, UL 1558, UL MV, CSA 22-2, and ANSI requirements and their applications in switchgear controls
• Understand protective relays, their functions associated with Generator, and Utility protection applications.
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering preferred
• 8-10 years experience required.
Additional Role Details: Typical task breakdown:
– Execute and support the design, test, manufacture, and commissioning of low and medium voltage switchgear that controls multiple generators which parallel to one or more utility sources
– Provide direction to CAD designers to create wiring and assembly drawings for generator paralleling switchgear controls.
– Interact with internal and external customers, accomplishing project milestones
– Create bill of materials for generator paralleling switchgear controls in ERP system
– Create PLC programs for control of generator paralleling switchgear
– Execute multiple projects simultaneously.
Job Responsibilities:
• Assists in creating and following electrical design schedule, from specification concept to system up completion, while keeping to an overall project schedule.
• Testing, evaluating, modifying and calibrating products and instruments.
• Analyze plant processes, design and implement improvements
• Troubleshooting issues with hardware and processes.
• Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design including electrical requirements, robotic safety standards, and motor controls.
• Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed.
