ABOUT THE ROLE:

As an AWS Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing AWS cloud solutions to support the organization’s business goals. You will lead cloud infrastructure projects, ensure best practices, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and cost-efficient solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Solution Design: Architect scalable, reliable, and secure AWS cloud solutions that align with business and technical requirements.

  • Cloud Migration: Lead migration efforts for on-premise applications and data to AWS, ensuring minimal disruption and optimized performance.

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design and implement IaC using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.

  • AWS Services Implementation: Leverage AWS core services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and VPC to create cloud-native applications.

  • Security and Compliance: Implement cloud security solutions using AWS IAM, KMS, Security Hub, and GuardDuty, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.

  • Cost Management: Monitor and optimize AWS costs using tools like AWS Cost Explorer, Trusted Advisor, and Savings Plans.

  • DevOps Enablement: Integrate CI/CD pipelines with AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy for automated deployments.

  • Disaster Recovery: Design and implement disaster recovery strategies using AWS Backup, CloudEndure, and Route 53 failover routing.

  • Networking: Design secure and efficient networking solutions using AWS VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, and VPN.

  • Monitoring and Analytics: Implement monitoring solutions with CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and third-party tools like Datadog or Splunk.

  • Database Management: Work with RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, and Aurora to design database solutions based on application needs.

  • Serverless Architecture: Design and implement serverless solutions using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and EventBridge.

  • Multi-Cloud Strategies: Collaborate with teams to design hybrid or multi-cloud solutions integrating AWS with other cloud providers.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, developers, and operations teams to understand requirements and translate them into AWS solutions.

  • Documentation: Create and maintain architectural diagrams, design documents, and technical standards.

  • AWS Well-Architected Framework: Ensure solutions adhere to the AWS Well-Architected Framework, focusing on reliability, performance, security, and cost.

  • Training and Mentoring: Provide technical leadership, training, and mentoring to junior team members and other stakeholders.

  • Prototyping: Develop proof-of-concepts to validate new architectures and technologies.

  • AWS Marketplace Tools: Evaluate and integrate third-party tools and services from AWS Marketplace into solutions.

  • Big Data and Analytics: Design data pipelines and analytics solutions with AWS Glue, Athena, and EMR.

  • AI/ML Solutions: Collaborate on AI/ML implementations using SageMaker, Rekognition, and Comprehend.

  • Incident Response: Support troubleshooting and resolution of cloud-related incidents and issues.

  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with AWS support and vendors for troubleshooting and solution optimization.

  • Edge and Content Delivery: Optimize content delivery with AWS CloudFront and design edge computing solutions with AWS IoT services.

  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest AWS services and features, recommending innovative approaches for existing and future solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Certifications (Preferred):

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional

  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional

  • AWS Certified Security – Specialty

Key Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of AWS core services and architecture.

  • Expertise in IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.

  • Proficiency in cloud security principles and AWS IAM.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
