We are looking for  IT Audit and Advisory Consultant at Austin, Texas.

This is an long term project.

Position Summary:

We seek an experienced **IT Audit and Advisory Consultant** to provide comprehensive IT audit and advisory services aligned with recognized professional standards and frameworks. The ideal candidate will deeply understand IT governance, cybersecurity, risk management, and IT compliance frameworks such as GAGAS, IPPF, COSO, NIST, COBIT, and the Texas Cybersecurity Framework. The consultant will conduct independent and objective assessments of IT systems, controls, and processes to ensure compliance with regulations, industry standards, and best practices. This is a project-based role with assignments issued through work orders, and the candidate must be comfortable adapting to different tasks and engagements as needed.

Experience: 

   – At least 7 years of experience in IT audit, advisory, and/or cybersecurity roles, preferably in a government, higher education, or large enterprise setting. 

   – Demonstrated expertise in audit frameworks such as GAGAS, IPPF, COSO, NIST, COBIT, and the Texas Cybersecurity Framework. 

   – Proven experience in assessing IT general controls, application controls, cybersecurity, risk management, and IT governance processes. 

   – Experience in preparing detailed audit reports and presenting findings to senior management and stakeholders.

Skills and Knowledge :

   – Strong knowledge of IT audit standards and frameworks (e.g., GAGAS, NIST, COBIT).

   – Familiarity with current cybersecurity threats, frameworks (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework), and privacy regulations.

   – Experience evaluating IT controls and systems such as access controls, service/support processes, change management, and physical security.

   – Familiarity with IT project management processes, including planning, acquisition, implementation, and post-implementation reviews.

   – Ability to synthesize complex technical information and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

   – Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly.

   – Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

   – High attention to detail and organizational skills.

   – Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.

Desirable Qualifications :

– Experience in conducting audits and advisory services in the public or governmental sector.

– Experience with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board or similar educational organizations.

Work Environment

– This role may involve remote work or travel to various locations in Texas, as required by the engagement or project plan.

– Work is project-based, and specific assignments will be issued through work orders with defined deliverables and timelines.
