Job Role: DevOps Engineer
Location: Rockville, MD & ALEXANDRIA, VA
Job Description:
• Lead the deployment of an on-premise Docker environment for a distributed containerized platform.
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
• Support development and operations throughout the life of the project
• Design, implement and maintain a container orchestration platform that integrates with the CI/CD pipeline for deployments and supports operations
• Manage and monitor the Docker environment post-deployment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Regular knowledge sharing to embed practices and share IP within operations teams
• Collaborate with development, operations, and other teams to ensure smooth and efficient workflows.
• Implement and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to deployment, integration, and operations.
• Ensure security best practices and policies are followed in all deployments and operations.
• Document processes, configurations, and procedures for future reference.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Docker and container orchestration.
• Strong knowledge of software development practices
• Experience with scripting to support DevOps capabilities
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub CI, or similar.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Solid understanding of networking, security, and system administration focused on Linux platforms.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
